Owners of the Cajun-Creole eatery, The Big Easy, are expanding in the area. They are adding to their Winter Garden restaurant with a second location in Windermere. The new outpost will be at the Lakeside Village plaza. The Big Easy will be housed in the space that hosted the now-closed Caprino’s Italian restaurant.

In addition to The Big Easy restaurants, Morgan and Misti Jimenez are also the owners of Casa Jimenez at 15493 Stoneybrook West Parkway. They opened the Latin American restaurant in May.

The couple has received the keys to their Windermere location for The Big Easy. They are making plans to customize the interior and exterior.

The hope is to open this new restaurant in January. The Big Easy will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The restaurant space is nearly 5,000-square-feet. It will feature an outside patio and bar area.

There are plans to have happy hour specials but also maintain a family atmosphere. The menu will closely mirror their current location that has been open in Winter Garden for seven years.

The owners will also keep a Mardi Gras theme in the new space. Travel Advisor ranks The Big Easy as the third best restaurant in Winter Garden. Some of the highlight dishes include shrimp and grits, jambalaya, gumbo, and po-boys. Morgan got many of the concepts for the restaurant while growing up in New Orleans.
